Edu Myth Buster: The science behind learning

Educational Myth Busters – The Science Behind Learning is an Erasmus+ training course for youth workers and educators interested in strengthening their practice through evidence-based educational approaches.

Key information at a glance:

  • Where: Arroyomolinos (Madrid area), Spain

  • When: 27 March – 3 April 2026

  • Costs: No participation fee. Accommodation, meals and programme costs are covered by Erasmus+. Travel costs are reimbursed according to Erasmus+ rules.

Europamente ETS is proud to be a partner in this international training course, which will bring together around twenty participants from Italy, Spain, Greece, Lithuania and the Czech Republic. Hosted at ALEA’s HUB – Espacio Cultural Artistic, the project offers an immersive learning experience in a collaborative and intercultural setting.

Educational Myth Busters is based on the idea that many commonly used educational practices are shaped by habits and assumptions rather than by scientific evidence. Throughout the training, participants will explore the science behind learning, reflect on educational “myths” and acquire practical tools to become more inclusive, effective and confident youth workers.

The programme focuses on key themes such as growth mindset, resilience and strategies to overcome self-sabotage, entrepreneurial thinking and proactive problem-solving, and the critical use of artificial intelligence in education. At the same time, it encourages active civic participation and aims to empower young people to better access European learning opportunities.

Participation in the project is not limited to the residential training. Selected participants will take part in preparatory online activities before the course and are expected to actively contribute during the training by co-creating learning resources and facilitating sessions together with the group. After the mobility, participants will be asked to share the knowledge and tools acquired within their local communities, for example through workshops, training activities or by integrating new methodologies into existing youth programmes.

Educational Myth Busters represents a valuable opportunity for youth workers, educators and volunteers—especially those working with vulnerable or marginalised young people—to grow professionally, exchange practices at European level and strengthen international cooperation.
