ACT – Art, Creativity and Theatre for Social Inclusion is an Erasmus+ training course that explores theatre, movement and creative practices as tools for social inclusion, non‑formal education and youth work. The project is conceived as an immersive and participatory learning experience, where the body becomes a central element for reflection, expression and collaboration.
The training will take place from 7 to 13 April 2026 in San Lorenzo de El Escorial, a historic town located around 55 km from Madrid, Spain. Known for the Royal Monastery of El Escorial, part of the national heritage, the town offers a unique and inspiring context for artistic exploration and intercultural exchange. Throughout the training, participants will live and work together at the El Escorial residence, where all daily activities will be hosted.
ACT is coordinated by Euroactiva‑T and brings together youth workers, educators, trainers and young artists — including dancers, actors, performers and theatre or dance creators — from eight European countries. Participants are over 18 years old, live in the country of a partner organisation and are able to work and communicate in English. The project particularly values motivation, openness to experimentation and full participation in the entire training process.
The main objective of ACT is to strengthen participants’ skills in physical theatre and theatre cooperation, while providing creative tools that can be transferred to educational, youth and community contexts. Through body‑based and sensory practices, the project encourages participants to connect with themselves, with others and with the group, fostering trust, awareness and collaboration. Creativity is enhanced through experimentation and the use of unconventional tools, while working in multicultural groups supports mutual learning and intercultural dialogue. An important outcome of the training is the creation of simple, site‑responsive performances developed in small groups.
The programme is based on non‑formal education methodology and strongly focused on practical experience. Activities include physical theatre and movement workshops, individual and group creative exercises, collaborative artistic processes, as well as moments of reflection, feedback and shared learning. The learning environment is designed to support both personal and professional development, offering participants space to explore new approaches, reflect on their practice and exchange perspectives with peers from different European contexts.
