The Second VOC Newsletter Is Out: A Look at Our Progress and Next Steps

The second edition of the Voices of Change newsletter has just been released, offering a comprehensive update on the project’s latest achievements and what lies ahead in the journey to support the civic and political participation of migrant women across Europe.

Funded by the CERV Programme of the European Union, Voices of Change brings together partners from 14 countries who are working collaboratively to foster inclusive leadership, empower women with migrant backgrounds, and contribute to a more democratic and representative European society.

One of the main highlights featured in this edition is the second transnational meeting, held on June 5th, 2025, in Berlin and hosted by the Fachhochschule des Mittelstands (FHM). The event brought together 31 representatives from the consortium for a day of strategic planning and exchange. Among the key discussions was the presentation of a draft framework for policy recommendations, led by Dr. Rojda Subasi. These guidelines will form the basis for a collective report to be submitted to EU institutions later this year. To ensure broad and inclusive input, a series of five online sessions has been scheduled to finalize the document by October 2025.

The newsletter also reflects on the successful completion of the webinar series held earlier this year, between February and March. These online events focused on critical themes such as women’s leadership, economic empowerment, and strategies for strengthening participation in public life. Speakers included project partners as well as external experts, creating a rich space for exchange. As noted in the newsletter, all sessions are available for replay on the project’s YouTube channel, making the content accessible to a wider audience.

Beyond the activities themselves, Voices of Change is growing its presence online. With over 1,000 visits to the project website to date, the consortium is implementing a renewed dissemination strategy for the second half of 2025, which includes national press coverage, editorial campaigns, and regular updates via social media and newsletters.

Looking ahead, the newsletter outlines an ambitious agenda for the final phase of the project. In November, an online meeting will prepare the ground for the next in-person event, to be held in Brussels in February 2026 at the EU headquarters. That meeting will be a pivotal moment to present the project’s final policy recommendations. The closing event is planned for March 2026 in Venice, where partners will reflect on the journey, share results, and celebrate the collective effort.

As Voices of Change continues to grow, so does its impact — not only through its activities but through the stories, voices, and leadership of the women it seeks to uplift.
