Shaping Policy Through Participation: Voices of Change Meets in Berlin

On June 5th, we had the pleasure of joining our partners in Berlin for the Transnational Partner Meeting of the Voices of Change (VOC) project, generously hosted by FHM University. This gathering marked an important milestone in the project’s journey, offering space to reflect on the work done so far and to shape the next phases together.

One of the key focuses of the meeting was the review of the outcomes emerging from the 13 webinars held between February and March, which engaged the members of the European Consultative Body (ECB) — a group of 84 girls from across Europe who are at the heart of this initiative. These sessions offered invaluable insights and were designed to equip all members with the knowledge and tools necessary for meaningful civic and political engagement.

Building on those discussions, we reached a shared agreement on the final version of the guidelines that will support the ECB girls in drafting the policy recommendations. This document will serve as a roadmap for the collaborative writing process that will take place between September and October, culminating in the presentation of the final recommendations in Brussels in February 2026.

These upcoming sessions, which will bring together all ECB members and project partners in a series of structured online meetings, will be central to the participatory process that defines the project. The recommendations will not only reflect the lived experiences of migrant girls in Europe but also propose concrete actions to improve policies affecting their lives.

The ECB was created with a clear and ambitious purpose: to amplify the voices of migrant girls in policy-making, to address the specific challenges they face through inclusive responses, and to foster a stronger sense of intercultural understanding and solidarity. In Berlin, that vision was reaffirmed through our shared commitment to centering these young women’s voices in every stage of the project.

We are proud to stand alongside them as they co-create a more just and inclusive future for Europe — one that listens, values, and acts on the voices of change.
